The part worth writing down is the finding that was turned down rather than the eight that were fixed: a memory anchored to a node is meant to go when the node goes, the root is the one exception, and the reason the exception is narrow — protecting depth 0 outright would rebuild the dangling rows forget_node exists to prevent.
