It hit me tonight, while train 1 and 2 are so cool and big, they are also inaccessible to most players (only those with terminals). In that, they burn up way too much passenger equipment too quickly.
So, make trains 1 and 2 have only 2 coaches, and the sparrow (5 and 6) have 3 coaches.

Worth noting the interaction with #2: this reduces coach consumption at the top of the timetable, which is the direction #2 needs, but it is not a fix for it — the coach pool still drains through the Classification Yard and does not come back. That one is still open on its own.
